In Matthew 18:19-20, we read (NIV):
19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Truly believing that the Lord’s Prayer unites us globally with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, the authors are embarking on forming genuine partnerships world-wide with the simple aim for the partners to recite the Lord’s Prayer at the same time at the following 8 times:
{10.35 am/pm, 10.53 am/pm, 1.35 pm/am, 1.53 pm/am, 3.15 pm/am, 3.51 pm/am, 5.13 pm/am, 5.31 pm/am}
Based on these times, that two regions of the world that pair up are those separated by 12 hours. Hence, the 13 prayer partners are those in the time zones:
- UTC+12 and UTC 00
- UTC+11 and UTC-01
- UTC+10 and UTC-02
- UTC+09 and UTC-03
- UTC+08 and UTC-04
- UTC+07 and UTC-05
- UTC+06 and UTC-06
- UTC+05 and UTC-07
- UTC+04 and UTC-08
- UTC+03 and UTC-09
- UTC+02 and UTC-10
- UTC+01 and UTC-11
- UTC 00 and UTC-12
In our book (e-version here), we showed that the prayer pattern of the Lord’s Prayer is a continual reminder of the message of the cross, for it daily focuses the attention on and belief in Christ’s death on the cross, which is central to the Christian faith, as we read in 1 Peter 2:24 – 25 (ERV):
24 Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross. He did this so that we would stop living for sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you were healed. 25 You were like sheep that went the wrong way. But now you have come back to the Shepherd and Protector of your lives.
Hence the practical impact of following the prayer pattern is world-wide salvation.
Indeed, assume that at the indicated times the Lord’s Prayer begins in Fiji, which, by virtue of its Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+12) and its coordinate on the 180th meridian (16o9’S 180oE) is the first country to see the Sun rises. Then like a tsunami, emanating from Fiji, the Lord’s Prayer reverberates around the world. As the Lord’s Prayer follows the Sun into new time zones, believers take over the prayer baton in the global glorification of the Father and the Son, continually, unending. Consequently, the lives of billions of people across the planet will be uplifted and changed for the better, a fitting preparation of humankind for the return of Jesus Christ (Luke 12:35 – 36, NIV):
35 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.
With the Lord’s Prayer constantly on our lips, our eyes are bound to be fixed continually on Jesus Christ who is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
